We are currently looking for a Production Painter to join our team in Columbia, TN. Candidate will be responsible for effectively preparing and painting minor or major sub-assemblies and other parts of aircraft type components in a production environment according to specifications and schedule requirements with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of activities including preparation of surfaces and mixing paints/primers
  • Painting minor & major subassemblies of various substrates (mainly acrylics) along with small detail parts to required specifications
  • Performs layout and masking as necessary
  • Strips paint and prepares surfaces as required
  • Performs miscellaneous paint operations, touch up, and applies decals
  • Maintains samples, records, and performs tape tests
  • Performs light balancing of products within a dark room & uses a light meter
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S and Lean Initiatives and complies with all applicable safety regulations
  • QC inspection
  • Read and comprehend work instructions, drawings and parts lists
  • Simple equipment maintenance and upkeep tasks
  • Maintaining proper respirator care and operation

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year+ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in wet coating of plastic parts is preferred.
  • Good communication skills
