Our facility in Columbia, TN is currently seeking to add an Electronics Bench Test Technician to the team.

Responsibilities

The Electronics Bench Test Technician is a full-time position that requires someone with the ability to assemble/disassemble and test electronic equipment and parts; to inspect, identify, troubleshoot, refurbish and/or repair electro-mechanical equipment. Accurately evaluates electronic products and equipment down to the board component level. Examine a whole board and isolate any problems. Having a fundamental understanding of AC and DC circuits, and a strong background in digital electronics and microprocessors are essential.

  • Follow written procedures and processes but also have the ability to think quickly to answer questions and solve problems involving differing situations, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned and unlearned alternatives.
  • Occasional analysis and independent judgment is required to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronics with or without schematics.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail when inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing units to ensure the work is accurate and complete.
  • Troubleshoot, collect, compile, and analyze information to develop recommendations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer programs as well as the Internet and other basic database systems.
  • Communicate with customer’s technical representatives to diagnose possible issues with fielded units.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree required.
  • Three (3) year previous electronic repair and/or assembly experience, or related experience preferred.
  • Must have a technical aptitude, manual dexterity, willingness and ability to learn new electronic equipment and repair techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the board component level.
  • Experience with hand tools, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, generators, and soldering equipment required.
  • Ability to read engineering schematics & follow written instructions
  • Good communication skills.
  • PCB Assembly experience a plus.
  • Possess a good attitude, be flexible, and work well within a team environment.
  • IPC Class 3 or J-STD-901 certified a plus.
  • LCD & CRT experience a plus.
